About Ryan Curella

Father first. Practitioner second.

How it started

Before I ever held a letter board for someone else, I held one for my son. He's nonspeaking, and for years our family searched for a way to reach the mind we knew was there — sharp, curious, full of things to say.

When we found the Spellers Method, everything shifted. Not overnight, and not without hard work. But the first time he spelled something I didn't expect — something only he could know — I understood that we hadn't been teaching him to communicate. We'd been giving his body a way to show what his mind already knew.

That moment changed the trajectory of our family. And it left me with a conviction I couldn't set aside: other families deserve this too.

"We hadn't been teaching him to communicate. We'd been giving his body a way to show what his mind already knew."

Why I became a provider

I pursued intensive training and certification as a Spellers Method Provider because I understand this work from the inside. I've been the parent in the waiting room. I've felt the frustration of being told what my child can't do. And I've experienced the profound relief of being proven wrong.

Every session I lead starts from the same place my own journey started: the belief that the person across from me has everything to say. My job is to help their body catch up to their mind.
